Mount Kenya Climb

Rise and shine at 7 am, ready for an exciting day ahead! After a delicious breakfast at 7:30 am, set off on a thrilling adventure. Following the trail, venture through enchanting montane forests, gradually ascending away from Lake Ellis on its west side. The journey will lead you across the vast moorland, revealing the magnificent walls of the impressive Gorges Valley, where the main Chogoria Route trail awaits.

Throughout the day, your incredible crew of porters and chefs will be ahead of you, preparing a scrumptious hot lunch and beverages upon our arrival at the campsite. With a 5-6 hour walk ahead, the team ensures that everything is ready just in time for us to indulge in a well-deserved hot lunch. 

As the sun sets, you'll relish a delightful dinner and spend the night at the picturesque Lake Michelson campsite, surrounded by the untouched beauty of Mount Kenya and under the blanket of stars.

Early morning wake up to the crisp mountain air, energised for the day's adventure. After a hearty breakfast, begin your 4 km uphill hike towards the Austrian Hut. The distance covered will be 5 km, taking approximately 5 hours with a lunch stop along the route.  Proceed to the Austrian Hut for a memorable dinner and an overnight stay at an impressive altitude of 4,790m. Enjoy the picturesque moments, clean air and wicked quad burn.

Rise and shine its summit day! Gear up for an exhilarating 1 km trek upwards towards the magnificent Point Lenana Summit, where the breathtaking sunrise awaits. Capture unforgettable moments and soak in the stunning scenery from this lofty peak. Then, descend to Shiptons Camp (4,200m) for a well-deserved breakfast.

After a refreshing break, begin your downhill trek of 14 km towards Old Moses Camp (4,200m), stopping for a delicious lunch en route. Once at Old Moses Camp, you will finally give those legs a break and transfer back to town - until the next adventure!
