The Experience

Experience a transformative journey across Uganda and Kenya, beginning with game drives and cultural immersion in Uganda’s wild Kidepo Valley. Trek into the Morungole Mountains to connect with the Ik people and their wellness traditions. Continue to Nairobi for creative reflection, then head north to Samburu for yoga, wildlife, and empowering visits with local women’s communities. End your adventure on the Swahili coast of Lamu, where you’ll enjoy beachside yoga, explore historic Lamu Town, and relax with sunset dhow sails and Swahili cuisine.

Day 1

Arrival in Kidepo Valley

Arrive in Entebbe and fly north to Kidepo Valley National Park. Settle into your camp or lodge, enjoying a welcome dinner with your guide and fellow travelers. Take in the wild savannah landscape, unwind after your journey, and prepare for the adventure ahead in one of Uganda’s most remote and beautiful wilderness areas.
Day 2

Kidepo – Wildlife & Culture

Explore the savannah on morning and afternoon game drives, searching for lions, elephants, and unique birdlife. Learn about local conservation efforts and visit a Karamojong village for music, dance, and meaningful cultural connection. Evenings are for reflection, sundowners, and sharing stories overlooking the wild landscape, deepening your appreciation for this extraordinary region of northern Uganda.
Day 3

Morungole Mountains & Ik Community

Begin with a guided nature walk focused on traditional healing plants, then journey into the Morungole Mountains. Meet the Ik people in their remote highland community, camping near the village. Participate in storytelling, learn about unique traditions, and immerse yourself in the wellness practices and daily rhythms of this remarkable and rarely visited culture.
Day 4

Ik Traditions & Departure to Nairobi

Spend the morning further connecting with the Ik community, joining in daily activities or wellness practices. After lunch, return to Entebbe and fly onward to Nairobi. Settle into a boutique city retreat, enjoy a special dinner, and share reflections with your group in a creative, wellness-focused setting, preparing for the next stage of your journey.
Day 5

Nairobi City & Creative Connections

Rest or explore Nairobi’s vibrant culture and art scene. Visit local galleries, markets, or wellness spaces, or simply unwind at your retreat. Enjoy a delicious dinner, connecting with your group and reflecting on your journey so far. Prepare for your transition from city life to the wild landscapes of northern Kenya.
Day 6

Samburu – Nature & Mindfulness

Travel north to Samburu and settle into a beautiful camp or eco-lodge surrounded by nature. Experience yoga and meditation with inspiring views, then head out on game drives to discover unique wildlife. Visit a women’s village for beadwork workshops and stories of empowerment. Evenings feature stargazing, cultural ceremonies, and mindful bush dinners under the African sky.
Day 7

Samburu – Wildlife & Culture

Continue your Samburu adventure with more game drives, seeking rare species like Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe. Enjoy guided bush walks or wellness sessions. Visit local communities to learn about Samburu traditions and women’s empowerment initiatives. Relax in the evening with a bush dinner, sharing stories and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of northern Kenya.
Day 8

Arrival in Lamu & Swahili Coast Introduction

After a final sunrise in the bush, fly to the Kenyan coast and arrive on Lamu Island for a relaxing wellness retreat by the Indian Ocean. Settle in with yoga on the beach and begin exploring the historic streets of Lamu Old Town, taking in Swahili architecture and vibrant culture as you unwind in this unique coastal setting.
Day 9

Lamu – Community & Culinary Experiences

Visit women-led community projects and enjoy a Swahili cooking class, learning local culinary traditions. Set sail on a sunset dhow cruise, and spend time reflecting, relaxing, and reconnecting with yourself and your surroundings. There’s plenty of opportunity for beach walks, wellness activities, and soaking up the tranquil atmosphere of the Swahili coast.
Day 10

Lamu – Reflection & Departure

Enjoy a final morning of yoga, beach walks, or exploring Lamu’s markets and winding streets. Savor a farewell meal with your group, reflecting on the journey’s highlights and meaningful connections made along the way. Transfer to the airport for your return to Nairobi, carrying memories of wild landscapes, cultural encounters, and personal renewal.

When to travel

Best from June to October and December to February for optimal weather and community activities; Lamu and the coast are beautiful year-round, though March–May can be rainy.
