The Experience

Start in Kigali, Rwanda, with a scenic transfer into Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site and sanctuary for nearly half the world’s mountain gorillas. Expert guides prepare you for a gorilla trek through misty rainforests to meet a gorilla family. Also, visit Ride 4 A Woman, a local NGO, to weave baskets, cook traditional dishes, and join cultural dances, experiencing community resilience. Day 1

Arrival & Scenic Transfer to Uganda

Arrive in Kigali and enjoy a scenic drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills and volcanic landscapes into Uganda. Settle into your accommodation, soaking in the lush scenery and welcoming atmosphere. Day 2

Cultural Immersion at Ride 4 A Woman

Visit Ride 4 A Woman, where you’ll be warmly welcomed by the local team. Take part in hands-on activities such as basket weaving, cooking, and traditional dance. Connect with women whose lives are being transformed by this initiative. Enjoy authentic Ugandan hospitality and learn about the impact of community-led empowerment projects on local women.
Day 3

Journey to Bwindi & Forest Introduction

Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Settle into your forest lodge, surrounded by ancient trees and birdsong. Spend the afternoon exploring the local area, visiting a craft market, or relaxing with views of the misty hills. Prepare for tomorrow’s unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure in this remarkable wilderness.
Days 4-5

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Farewell

Wake early for guided gorilla trekking in Bwindi, navigating dense jungle and observing a gorilla family. After rest and reflection, spend the next morning connecting with the community or forest, then transfer to Kigali. Depart with a baggage full of wildlife, conservation, and women’s empowerment experiences, inspired by your journey’s impact and lasting memories.

When to travel

The best time to visit is during the dry seasons from June to September and December to February for comfortable trekking, while the green seasons from March to May and October to November offer lush landscapes and fewer visitors but with occasional rain
