The Experience

Kick off on Mount Kenya’s slopes, meeting the last northern white rhinos, trekking with anti-poaching dogs, and hiking to waterfalls. Continue to Lake Nakuru for classic game drives and flamingos before heading to Nandi County, the epicentre of Kenya’s legendary running culture. Here, you’ll train while staying at 2 Running Lodge, running on same tracks where world-class athletes do. Day 1

Mount Kenya – Arrival & Forest Welcome

Arrive at Kilima Gardens on the slopes of Mount Kenya. Settle into your cabin, meet your hosts, and enjoy a welcome dinner surrounded by the sights of the mountain and sounds of the forest.
Day 2

Ol Pejeta – Rhinos & Conservation

Visit Ol Pejeta Conservancy for a rare encounter with the last northern white rhinos. Join a canine anti-poaching trek and learn about cutting-edge conservation work. Return to Kilima Gardens for an evening of relaxation.
Day 3

Waterfalls & Highland Adventures

Embark on a guided hike to Ngare Ndare Falls for a canopy walk and turquoise pools, or opt for a day trip to Thomson’s Falls in Nyahururu. Enjoy a picnic lunch, forest walks, and time to soak in the highland scenery.
Day 4

Lake Nakuru National Park – Safari & Rift Valley Views

Drive to Lake Nakuru and check in at Sopa Lodge. Head out for classic game drives in search of rhinos, lions, and flamingos. Enjoy sundowners overlooking the Rift Valley and immerse yourself in local culture.
Day 5

Lake Nakuru – More Safari & Exploration

Spend a second day exploring Lake Nakuru National Park. Enjoy early morning and late afternoon game drives for more wildlife sightings, including rhinos, lions, leopards, and the famous pink flamingos. Take in the park’s scenic viewpoints, enjoy guided walks (where permitted), or relax at the lodge with panoramic views of the lake and Rift Valley.
Day 6

Arrival in Kapsabet & 2 Running Lodge

In the morning, start with a drive to Kapsabet in Nandi County. Arrive at 2 Running Lodge and settle into your cosy room, your home for the next adventure. Enjoy a warm welcome, meet coach Claudio Berardelli and fellow runners, and get oriented for the week. Unwind in the gym, or relax in the upstairs lounge with panoramic views. Savor a nutritious dinner with fresh, local ingredients and get ready to dive into the world of Kenyan running.
Day 7

Guided Run with Champions & Tea Country Exploration

Start your day with a guided run on the legendary trails of Kapsabet, maybe alongside elite Kenyan athletes if the day allows. After the run, enjoy a hearty breakfast and recover with a complimentary massage or physiotherapy session. In the afternoon, take a guided tour of a local tea plantation and factory, learning about the tea-making process and enjoying fresh tastings. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 8

Nandi Hills Hike & Waterfall Adventure

Embark on a guided hike through the lush Nandi Hills, exploring scenic trails and local gardens. Discover the magnificent Chepkiit Waterfalls and enjoy a picnic lunch in nature before returning to the lodge. In the evening, join a group dinner and Q&A session with guest runners and coaches, before enjoying the upstairs lounge with panoramic views and cozy ambiance.
Day 9

Koitalel Arap Samoei Museum & Cultural Immersion

In the morning, set for training at the Eliud Kipchoge Sports Complex, a state-of-the-art athletic training facility located in the heart of Kapsabet and named after the famous local champion. Later visit the Koitalel Arap Samoei Museum to learn about the powerful history of the Nandi people and their resistance. Experience traditional rhythms and dances with local performers. Return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.
Day 10

Trail Running & Wellness Day

Set out for another guided run on the iconic trails of Kapsabet, with the option to maybe join elite runners for a shared experience. After your run, enjoy a healthy breakfast and take advantage of the lodge’s wellness offerings, including a massage, the gym, or a physiotherapy session. Spend the afternoon at leisure, relaxing in the gardens, or maybe connect with the community through a give-back activity at a local school.
Day 11

Community Connection & Running Workshop

Participate in a morning running workshop or training session led by a local coach, focusing on technique, endurance, or recovery. Enjoy a final group dinner at the lodge, sharing stories and experiences with fellow guests.

Sunrise Run & Farewell
