Day 1-3 – Nyungwe National Park
Arrive at Nyungwe National Park, a haven for chimpanzees and monkeys, offering a rare chance to observe these remarkable primates up close. During your stay, you can embark on treks to see both chimps and monkeys, with early morning departures taking you deep into the jungle. Listen for the rustle of leaves before spotting a chimpanzee gazing down from the fig trees or a troop leaping gracefully through the canopy. On another day, set out to encounter species like the Hoest and Colobus monkeys, adding to the unforgettable wildlife experiences in this lush rainforest.

Day 4-6 – Volcanoes National Park
Leave behind the chimps and monkeys as you journey to Volcanoes National Park, home to the iconic mountain gorillas. This protected sanctuary offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to trek through lush jungle terrain and encounter these majestic creatures in their natural habitat—a true bucket-list experience for many. After the exhilaration of your trek, return to the comfort and luxury of your accommodation, where you can unwind and reflect on the unforgettable moments shared with the gorillas.

Beyond trekking, explore the region's rich culture through immersive village visits and local crafts, all woven into the awe-inspiring landscapes nurtured by the passion and care of the local communities.

Day 7-9 – Akagera National Park

Akagera National Park is the perfect addition to your primate experience, offering a striking contrast with its expansive savannahs and vibrant wetlands. As Central Africa’s largest protected wetland, Akagera is a haven for savannah-adapted wildlife and a testament to Rwanda’s incredible conservation success. Once on the brink of devastation after the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi, the park has been beautifully restored into a thriving ecosystem.

Today, you can witness elephants bathing in shimmering lakes, track rhinos, giraffes, and lions across open plains, or try your hand at catch-and-release fishing while spotting the elusive sitatunga antelope. In the evening, immerse yourself in the park's culture and history with a traditional Kugisha supper around a roaring fire, sharing stories with fellow travelers under the starry African sky.
