Days 1–3

Nyungwe National Park

Arrive at Nyungwe National Park, a haven for primates and birdlife. Settle into your lodge and spend your days trekking through lush rainforest to observe chimpanzees and a variety of monkeys, such as Hoest’s and Colobus. Early morning starts take you deep into the jungle, where you’ll listen for the calls of chimps and watch monkeys leap through the canopy. Evenings are for relaxation and reflection, surrounded by the serenity of the forest.

Days 4–6

Volcanoes National Park

Travel north to Volcanoes National Park, home to the legendary mountain gorillas. Check in at your chosen base with stunning views near the park. Embark on a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trek, hiking through misty bamboo forests to spend time with a gorilla family. Beyond trekking, immerse yourself in the region’s vibrant culture with village visits and local crafts, all set against the dramatic backdrop of volcanic peaks.

Akagera National Park

Finish your adventure in Akagera National Park, where savannahs and wetlands teem with wildlife. Enjoy classic game drives in search of elephants, rhinos, lions, and more, or try catch-and-release fishing on shimmering lakes.
