This 9-day itinerary offers an in-depth journey through Uganda’s stunning landscapes and unique wildlife. Start with a scenic flight to Kihihi and settle in near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You’ll connect with the local community before setting off on an unforgettable gorilla trek, an ideal introduction to Uganda’s wonders with a chance to get up close to these beautiful creatures. 

Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a chance to see the famous tree-climbing lions, then head to Kyambura Game Reserve. Here, game drives and a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel bring you up close with hippos, elephants, and more. Your adventure concludes in Kibale Forest National Park, where chimp trekking and birdwatching at Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary reveal even more of Uganda’s diverse wildlife.

Day 1   (Extraordinary Adventures)

Get ready to board your super scenic flight from Entebbe to Kihii, setting the stage for an extraordinary adventure.

After lunch, dive into the local culture with a visit to a nearby village. Immerse yourself in the community's warmth and discover the unique facets of the Community Hospital.

Explore the intricacies of tea processing at the lodge and delve into the ancient traditions of the Batwa Pygmies. Luxuriate in the evening at the Lodge, surrounded by the enchanting sounds of the wilderness.

Day 2   (The Majestic Encounter with Gorillas)

Get ready for the pinnacle of your adventure: Gorilla Trekking in the heart of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Your guide will lead you to the starting point, where experienced guides and rangers will accompany you on your trek to find the gorillas. Spend an hour with these magnificent creatures, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

After this unforgettable experience, return to the comfort of your Lodge, where you can unwind and reflect on your day in luxury.

Day 3   (A Scenic Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Home of the Tree-Climbing Lions)

After breakfast, say goodbye to the lush rainforest as you take a 2-hour journey towards the savannah, heading to Ishasha, renowned for its unique tree-climbing lions.

En route to the camp, enjoy a brief game drive through the National Park. Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed by the Ishasha Wilderness Team. Enjoy your lunch at the lodge before unwinding by banks of the Ntungwe River.

At 4 PM, embark on an exciting evening game drive, hoping to catch a glimpse of the elusive tree-climbing lions. Conclude your day by watching the sunset in the bush before heading back to the lodge for dinner.

Day 4   (A Day of Safari Splendor)

Start your day with an early morning game drive, where, on a clear day, you might catch breathtaking view of the Mountains of Congo. Conclude your drive with breakfast in the bush.

Return to the lodge late in the morning for some well-deserved relaxation before your afternoon activities. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at the lodge, then choose to embark on another evening drive or unwind at your leisure around the lodge.

As the day winds down, enjoy a drink around the fire before enjoying a delicious dinner under the stars.

Day 5   (Farewell to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Welcome to Kyambura Game Reserve)

Bid farewell to Queen Elizabeth National Park as you embark on a scenic drive north, a journey that takes about 2 to 3 hours, to Kyambura Game Reserve, enjoying the changing landscapes along the way.

Settle into your cozy tent at Honey Bear Bush Camp and unwind by exploring the camp's surroundings. Enjoy a leisurely lunch with views of the lush landscape.

After a day of travelling in a vehicle spend the afternoon on a guided nature walk to discover the rich flora and fauna of the reserve.

Day 6   (A Day in Kyambura Game Reserve)

Start your day with an early breakfast before heading out for a game drive in Kyambura Game Reserve.
Return to the camp for lunch and some relaxation. Watch the time fly as you sit with a view of the channel, where hippos roam and elephants come to drink and swim.

Spend the afternoon on a Dhow Boat Safari along the Kazinga Channel for a different perspective on the wildlife.

Enjoy dinner at the camp, followed by stories around the campfire under the stars.

Day 7   (Leaving the Safaris Behind, moving to see Chimps)

It’s time to leave the savannah behind and head into the enchanting Kibale Forest National Park, with a scenic drive from Kyambura Game Reserve that takes about 2 to 3 hours.

Nestled on the edge of this lush forest is Turaco Treetops Lodge. Upon arrival, you can spend your afternoon unwinding by the pool or for those eager to explore, a nature walk through Kibale Forest, offering a chance to connect with the vibrant flora and fauna. Whether you choose to relax or venture out, this is the perfect time to embrace the beauty of the forest.

Day 8   (Chimpanzee Trekking!)

Spend the morning with a lively chimpanzee family of Kibale Forest, an exhilarating experience that offers a unique glimpse into their world.

In the afternoon, head to the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, an avian paradise perfect for bird enthusiasts, where you can spot a variety of vibrant species.

After a day filled with adventure, unwind back at the lodge.

Day 9   (Homeward Bound)

It’s time to bid farewell to Uganda as your adventure comes to a close. You’ll be transferred from Turaco Treetops Lodge to Kasese Airstrip (approx 1 hour), where your flight will take you back to Entebbe.

Enjoy the spectacular aerial views of the lush tea plantations during your journey. As you return to Lake Victoria, take a moment to reflect on the incredible experiences you’ve had in this beautiful country.
