Purity, Giving Elephants a Voice

From the sunlit plains of northern Kenya, Purity follows the quiet signals of the giants she has loved since childhood. As a Research and Tracking Officer with Save the Elephants, she uses satellite data to give these majestic creatures a voice, mapping their movements, tracing their paths, and listening to the unspoken stories written in their journeys.

Her path to conservation began with an early fascination for wildlife and a deep curiosity about animal behaviour. That curiosity led her to study Zoology, and eventually into the heart of a new generation of conservationists blending science with technology.

Each day, Purity sits at the crossroads of both worlds: decoding data, tracking herds across vast landscapes, and translating their movements into knowledge that can protect them. Her work is quiet, but it carries weight. Through every signal she reads, Purity tells the elephants’ story, a story that might just help humans and wildlife live side by side.
