The Ultimate 2024 Family Safari Bucket List

The last thing you need after the festive break is thinking about another Holiday.  But the Mama in me disagrees. There are no off days and certainly no breaks in parenting. So it only seems valid to curate a bucket list of places to explore through the year; after all - better a tantrum on safari than one at home!

Here are some of my top picks for 2024 that are guaranteed to make you have a roaring good time.

Loldia Eburru Campsite

When the year gets busy and the holidays far in between; Loldia Eburru Campsite will be a little haven for a quick, affordable weekend away to recharge. Not many camping sites can boast hot showers and clean loos – But this one? She will be a treat! With nights around a cozy bonfire and mornings spent taking guided walks in the Eburru Forest, camping will be one of those weekends you just have to do over and over again.

Ecoscapes Glamping

Escogapes Glamping

You know those times when the kids want to be out in the wild, but you just need that little extra level of comfort? Hello Glamping! Overlooking the Ecoscapes sanctuary, this off-grid, fully equipped tented glampsite is just the place to be. Sleep to the roar of the hyena and wake up to hippos grazing ahead. Let your children pick organic produce from their lush farm -and watch them love the whole glamping experience.

Nairobi Tented Camp

Nairobi Tented Camp

Nairobi National Park is known to be the world’s wildlife capital. But being the only camp in the park? This will be one of my top picks to savour a true wilderness experience with the kids this year. With the luxury of ensuite living and dining under the stars, this safari getaway is sure to be the kids' favourite.

Malu Lodge

Romantic places

Choose between Malu's Lodge cottages or riverfront treehouse and enjoy having the 1800-acre forest to explore. A unique plunge pool in the forest fed by natural hot water springs is a treat to kids and adults alike, making this a thoughtful, fun destination for family getaways.

Dolphin House

Dolphine Galu 2

Beach holidays make the best family holidays; with the kids spending countless hours on the sand or in the sea. This beachfront house set on the white sands of Galu Beach complete with a mini zip line for the kids between the lush palm trees is definitely one to explore this year.  Bonus points for an exclusive child-friendly pool.

Samburu Simba Lodge

Samburu Simba

Overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River, Samburu Simba gives you the thrill of waking up in the untamed Samburu Reserve, whilst allowing the children to spot herds of elephants as they splash around in the warm infinity pool. The blend of great food, undisturbed plains, and interaction with the local community makes this a rich, immersive family experience.

Don't let the year slip away before you:

    • Spark curiosity: Ignite little imaginations with encounters that feel like stepping into a storybook.
    • Bond like never before: Share adventures, laughter, and challenges that create memories that will last a lifetime.
    • Learn through play: Immerse your kids in new cultures and landscapes, igniting a love for travel and discovery.
