What’s not to love about Diani beach? The sand remains white as snow, the water turquoise blue, the seafood abundant and fresh, and the environment and experience breathtaking. Having returned to Diani Beach numerous times over the years, Diani still offers all the essential ingredients for replenishing tired minds and bodies. On my latest trip, I wanted to find that “hidden gem” that separated my trip from all the others. I definitely found it at Lazy Days, undoubtedly the most fascinating, enchanting, and world-class holiday home to hit the Kenyan coast.
Honoured to have been hosted by the new management team – Luca and Giulia, they made my stay extra special introducing me to the amenities offered at their establishment. As soon as I arrived, I was blown away.
This completely refurbished colonial- style house is on an exclusive private property centred around the most iconic baobab tree I have ever seen. The well-designed home has two identical wings, perfect for a group of friends, or a few families to stay. I was truly transported to another world away from the hustle and bustle of Nairobi – definitely a check mark on my bucket list of extraordinary places to relax and enjoy.
The Lazy Days grounds offer complete privacy from any neighbours, and has private beach access walkway that allows you to be steps from the beach. Every morning I would walk to the beach for a morning dip in the ocean before returning for my morning coffee under an expansive veranda that runs across the entirety of the house. The most memorable part at Lazy Days was the feeling of serenity, privacy, and simple indulgence. You can happily enjoy a cocktail by the quietly situated pool, escape to the well-equipped gym or spa, and then find yourself on an evening stroll on the beach.
You also don’t just eat meals when staying at Lazy Days, you have a “culinary experience” at world-class food establishments, Nomad Beach Bar and Grill or Indulge – the newly launched fine dining restaurant in a private wine cellar. Of course, there was always the option to remain at Lazy Days and be dined by a private chef under the baobab tree and stars. Diani is calling, and Lazy Days is beckoning you to enjoy something extraordinary – something beyond belief.
