Nestled at an elevation of 5,500 feet (1676 metres) above sea level, Desert Rose stands as a one-of-a-kind eco-friendly lodge. Situated on the lush cedar forest slopes of Mount Nyiru, this remarkable lodge overlooks the Elbarta plains, gracefully positioned between the Karisia Mountains and Lake Turkana in North Kenya.
This intimate retreat features five hand-crafted thatched houses and two luxurious tents, all designed for ultimate comfort and privacy. Each accommodates up to sixteen guests with plush olive wood beds. The houses, nestled amidst natural features, boast private en-suite bathrooms – some open-air for starlit soaks – and charming patios. Electricity is available for essential needs, with a central charging area to minimise environmental impact. The main lounge and pool area seamlessly blend with indigenous gardens, maximising the breathtaking panoramic views. Here, guests unwind in a fully stocked bar, a cozy sitting room warmed by a crackling fireplace, or by the bonfire pit under a canopy of stars.
